Tyler Greene In Battle For Astros' Everyday Shortstop Job

Shortstop battle begins in earnest

Before the Astros hit the bases Saturday, manager Bo Porter again said he prefers to have a single everyday shortstop rather than employing a platoon system. He also envisions his middle-of-the-infield athlete hitting leadoff in 2013.

Tyler Greene started against the Phillies, going 0-for-2 in the top spot with a walk. His competition, Marwin Gonzalez, went 2-for-3 with an RBI and three assists while holding down second base.
