Ex-Cardinals Watch 7-13-08: Suppan, Reyes, & Percival Rehabbing; Ginter Feeling Alright After 1st MLB Start; Moyer Tapped To Open 2nd Half

Jeff Suppan(Brewers):
Yost said he was at mile marker 19 of a 25-mile road in terms of making a decision, although the way he talked about the idea Sunday made it seem he was further down that path. The plan would be implemented after the all-star break, when Jeff Suppan comes off the disabled list. McClung would get the first turn next Monday in St. Louis.
Notes

Matt Ginter(Indians):
The Indians starting pitcher Saturday, Matt Ginter, had felt the pain before, so he knew it was no big deal.

Jaime Moyer(Phillies):
To open the second half, Jamie Moyer, Kyle Kendrick and Cole Hamels are scheduled to take the hill for the Phillies in a crucial weekend series against the Marlins.

Al Reyes & Troy Percival(Rays):
With RHP Al Reyes expected to be activated off the DL when play resumes and SS Jason Bartlett likely no more than a few days later, the Rays optioned SS Reid Brignac back to Triple-A Durham. He was 0-for-10 in four games.

Maddon said there was "a good chance" Reyes, out since June 10 with shoulder tendinitis, will be ready Friday. Bartlett (right knee sprain), whose absence has been glaring, might take a few more days but the Rays expect him to return during the six-game homestand.

RHP Troy Percival (left hamstring strain) will throw a bullpen session while home in California and hopes to throw a simulated game during Thursday's workout, but it's not certain how soon after he will be ready.
